Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the whole story. This is Jonathan and Robbie here. I guess Robbie and Jonathan here. And we are doing something, these little short form episodes that we're going to call the draft. And what we're going to do, inspired by a recent trip with my son, that we are going to take different topics, different things in golf, and we are going to draft in a snake draft fashion. If you're not familiar, you'll you'll see how that works. But we're going to do different topics. We'll have different guests come on from time to time. And yeah, we'll have some fun with it. So kicking off today with our first one is we are going to do uh in our opinion, snacks, right? The best snacks on the golf course. And this could be, you could go specific, like you could say, hey, this place has the best this, but once it comes off the board, like in a draft, it's gone. And so, Jonathan, I feel like normally we would probably flip a coin to see who goes first. But I, because this is something that I know is near and dear to your heart, I would like to give you the first draft pick in the uh favorite snack category on the golf course. Well, if you've been one one other thing, here's what I think is gonna be fun. So we also we posted our list, Archie and I did, we posted a list in Chat GPT and said, and like gave it the prompts and said, rank them. And so we're gonna do that. Like I'll I'll take notes and we'll rank these things. I'm gonna take the the chat GPT analysis of the draft and put it uh in a blog post on the best ball blog. So if you want to see how chat GPT thinks uh each of us or whoever our guests are do, we'll share their full evaluation on the draft. But we would love to hear from you who got what right, who got it wrong, what did we miss? So, all right, Jonathan, back to you.

Pick number one, favorite snacks. Well, if you have watched any almost any episode of the Whole Story Podcast, you have probably heard it talk to me about the origination of this question in our quick nine. Um, and so my first draft pick has to go to Las Puertas, La Cabos, Tacos, because every three holes there was a taco stand, and you got a free drink, adult beverage or not, and also two to three tacos. And our round went from breakfast tacos all the way to uh lunch tacos. So if I if I ever own a golf course, the number one thing that will be on that golf course is a taco.

I love it. Uh that that stinks. I knew that was gonna come, and I know so I will throw an honorable mention, Craig's Porch Tacos. There you go. From from Sand Valley. So yeah. All right. So now that you've had the first, I get the next two picks, right? So that's how a snake draft works for those listening at home. My first pick, I'm going uncrustable. Right? It's hard to beat an uncrustable, especially if it's still slightly frozen. Like you walk up to that cooler, it's there, you grab it. I'm curious, though, Jonathan, as we as we go through this thing on the uncrustable, are you a strawberry or grape, or I've even seen honey? Like, what would be your incrustable pick if you got to pick one of those?

I've never seen honey. I will grab one of each as one of each. Yeah, especially if the member is picking up the tab on that one.

Yeah. All right. Um, my next choice is gonna be a brat, right? Uh, I think and and I'll I'll say this and and you might pick it later, but a hot dog brought different things, but I'm going with a brat and sausage. Yeah. Uh and again, San Valley shout out, they had a great one. But yeah, anytime you can go somewhere uh and you can get a brat, I think is a uh is a great choice. So for the number three draft pick, we are going with a brat.

Yep. All right, number four, and I'd I'd like to think that this is this would be a popular one if other courses offered it. I did not partake because it's not my world, and a snack is gonna be a maybe a lean here. Sweeten's Cove whiskey shot to start the day. I've never seen more people happy about starting a round of golf than the 30 or 40 folks that we were out there with, the traditional whiskey shot from Sweeten's Cove.

That is a number of you know, that's that is a breakfast shot, a breakfast uh item for sure. It might be the only thing some people have had for breakfast, but uh I like it.

Good uh good shot. And then my fifth pick, was it fifth, fourth pick? Uh your next pick. Go ahead. This is a bolt pick, and I was warned against it, and I made sure I didn't ask too many dis uh questions about it. Haggis from the Catholic course. I'm assuming you can get haggis uh at other places in overseas. Uh honestly, as long as you put a little mustard on it, it reminded me of a brat. Uh again, I was just told not to ask too many questions about what actually makes up haggis.

Okay. Alright. So you're talking about like the haggis roll, right?

Like Oh, yeah. It was it was amazing. Uh it was it was the it was to hit the spot for a rough first nine. After a rough first nine.

Okay. All right. My next choice, I'm gonna go with a barbecue sandwich. Yeah. Recently, Tahill Farms, yeah, you you get a you can get a uh barbecue sandwich. So uh anytime, yeah, anytime you you'd need a little protein, right? Like you're playing along, 18 holes of golf. So you need some protein. Barbecue sandwich, if it's done well, um, highly, highly recommend that. So we're going with the old barbecue sandwich. Um, I I feel like I gotta put a good hot dog in here is my next pick, right? I chose the brat earlier. Um and and many people will probably say the hot dog should be the number one pick because that's just the staple of of all golf snacks, right? That's where it started. The the one where like they're on the little rollers uh and it's just going nonstop. Um I I you know, I re had some bison dogs there at um yeah. They're a big cedar, and and that was one of those like you could go in. You if you wanted a specialty drink, you'd pay for that. But if you wanted a bison dog, get one.

That was perfect. Hot dog. All right. This one is very specific as well. Not too many people will know about it, but if you get there, you should ask for it. The free fruit at the turn at the Aiken Golf Club. Uh, nice little lady sitting out there in the spot. I think it's after the I think it's after the 10-pole. It's not exactly.

It's like eight and fourteen. Like you gotta know where to go.

But ask if you can grab a piece, a piece of fruits, and normally you can get a piece of free fruit. If it's super hot, you might even get a free uh popsickle. So great little spot, little gym, hidden gym, if you will, um, from there. And then my other one, I'm trying to tie it.

So I'm gonna go with my actual that I the the one thing that I actually had, and then I'm gonna give an honor menstrual from the same course. So I had a macaroni pie at the old course, and they had hot sauce. So you put a little hot sauce on there, it was great. The one thing almost every single caddy picked up was a cup of soup. So old course. Cup of broth, wasn't it? That's right. Yeah, I think it was just broth. But almost every caddy grabbed one. So apparently that warms your soul if you're from the old course. There you go.

All right. Uh, my last choice, I'm just gonna go with the uh the old standard protein bar. I think that's a uh a great, easy snack to pick up um and and throw in the bag. I I will say my honorable mention, and this is a shout-out to our buddy Brandon Smith. Brandon has like created his own little like kind of healthy snack bags of like Catalina crunch cereal, almonds, some like dried cherries. He puts it in a bag, and it is a it is a great snack on the course. We will uh you mentioned the Sweeten's Cove uh bourbon shot, which is good. We'll do another one of these, uh, and I'm sure we'll do a number of these, but favorite drinks on the course later as well. But this is it. So, Jonathan, top 10. Uh, I got tacos, uncrustable, a brat, the the bourbon shot at Sweeten's Cove, Haggis Roll, barbecue sandwich, hot dog, uh I'll say fruit at the turn, um, a mac mac and cheese pie at the old course, and then finally a protein bar. So uh I'm curious what you guys think who who might have won the draft, if there are any winners uh uh of teams here.
